Tired of receiving the short end of the stick from mainstream media?
You know what I'm talking about, nothing but asexual, dorky Asian dudes and chicks used to fill a multicultural quota.
Well, look no further! Azn Lifestyles TV is coming to CityTV this Sunday, the 19th of October. Co-hosted by Katrina Peralta and CVC's very own fashion-show model of 4 years, Kent Leung, Azn Lifestyles TV's aim is to raise the profile of modern Asian-North-American life without selling you out.
Azn Lifestyles TV is much like a TV-magazine that includes interviews with Asian celebrities, MadTV-style skits done by members of Vancouver's very own Vancouver Asian Canadian Theatre (VACT), and "reorienting" entertaining segments that focus on quirky cultural phenomena only found in Asian cultures.
Is your oven only used for pots and pans?! This season we have appearances by the hilarious Russell Peters, Kabba Modern from the first season of America's Best Dance Crew, MadTV's own Bobby Lee, and much more!
Don't expect it to be spoken in Chinese or resemble any kind of programming from The Channel because it is not! It is geared towards people like you—people who are born in this society without truly knowing and understanding the culture behind their heritage. If you are any of the
above or someone I haven't listed, there is something in Azn Lifestyles TV that is destined to make you laugh, cry, or something in between (hopefully laugh). So tune in this Sunday or the following Wednesday and support the movement towards a mainstream media that is more Asian-friendly.
When: Sunday nights at 11:30pm AND Wednesday noon time at 12:30pm
