Our post-final exams dance is another big bash that our members look forward to every year.

Ski & Snowboard Trip
When: January 4-6, 2008
Attendance: 800
One of our biggest and most-anticipated events of the year, we are the largest ski & snowboard trip in Western Canada to be held by one organization.
For three days, members enjoy British Columbia Interiorʼs Sun Peaks mountains and the sun, snow, and fun that comes with it at a four-star resort. On the mountain, our ski trip department and social department runs a joint bash to party up the first night of the trip.

Athletic Tournaments
When: November, January and March
Attendance: 100+ each
The “Varsity” in Chinese Varsity Club is not without just cause! We have not only won the UBC REC 1st Place Title for points in the “Clubs” division the past three years, we also host three major tournaments that draw over a hundred participants each time – Volleyball (Smackdown), Basketball (Shot for Shot), and Roller Hockey. This is a perfect opportunity to target the student sporting enthusiast demographic and a large group of young, active people!

SUPASKILLZ Talent Show

Our talent show showcases some of the best talent Vancouver has to offer. This year, we welcomed beatboxers, magicians, singers, dance groups, and more to win the coveted SUPASKILLZ trophy and hundreds of dollars in cash prizes. We featured CJ, the singer who has been featured on Vancouverʼs The Beat 94.5 radio station, and repeat winners Groovy Gʼs dance group!

Fashion Show and Afterparty
When: April
Attendance: 1200
Our annual fashion show features CVC members as models, dressed in the latest fashion trends. The modelled garments are generously sponsored by companies such as Boysʼ Co., American Apparel, Patricia Fieldwalker, Seafolly, Swimco, The Bay, and MEXX Clothing and many more.

Chin & Chow Dinner Theatre
When: March
Attendance: 300
Chin & Chow is an annual interactive theatre production, along the lines of Tony and Tina’s Wedding, where the cast unfolds a storyline throughout a catered dinner. With audience participation, this night puts participants through a emotional rollercoaster of laughs and excitement. Last year’s “Chin and Chow: High School Prom” had raised its production to an entire new level – and plans to do so again!
